hang ? The controller hangs for a while, recovers, and everything continues normally. We've tried a replacement controller and a replacement set of disks (we swapped out all 4 disks) to no avail. The problem seems (?) to happen during spikes of IO -- like when the PostgreSQL autovacuum daemon kicks in.

Like the title says, my PC hangs during boot just after the Press F10 to enter to enter Raid setup message. Once the system warms up I can reboot and get into Windows without problems. I assume this is likely a HD problem with one of my RAID devices? Maybe a corrupt BIOS? Did you do anything to this system hardware

Thigh Boot Fetish
In the board BIOS, I see an option "Interrupt 19 Capture", and if you wanted the board to boot from the SIL0680 (Medley) RAID, then that would have to be enabled. That allows INT 0x13 (hexidecimal) routine support in the BIOS. INT 0x13 is what is used to do reads on storage devices, during the booting process.
